Measuring your pet for a soft cone
Two numbers decide a cone: the neck and the depth. Get both right and the pet can eat and sleep but can't reach the stitches.

1. The neck
Measure where a collar sits, with two fingers under the tape. Pick the size whose neck range includes it.
2. The depth
Measure from that point to the tip of the nose. The cone's depth must be longer — otherwise the pet bends round to the wound.
3. The fit check
Two fingers under the closure; the pet can't back out of it when you pull gently; the rim reaches past the nose when the head turns.
Which soft cone
- Pillow or flower cone: easiest to sleep in.
- Clear mesh-lined cone: best view and protection.
- Inflatable donut: lightest, but front paws stay reachable.
- Foldable cone: for travel and short use.
